JAKE ROSENBERG FOR MANDARIN ORIENTALDirector & Photographer
I've always been drawn to the places that stay with you long after you've left. The ones that become more than destinations and begin to feel like personal discoveries. What resonates with me about this idea is the tension between wanting to share something extraordinary and wanting to keep it entirely to yourself.
For me, luxury has never been about exclusivity or status. It's about feeling. A sense of comfort, discovery, and connection that becomes deeply yours. What I love about this concept is that we experience Mandarin Oriental through the eyes of its biggest fans. Simone and Cynthia aren't simply guests. They're protectors of a secret they can't quite bring themselves to share. Their attempts to conceal it become both humorous and endearing, revealing just how deeply connected they are to the experience.
Through a cinematic, playful, and observational lens, I want to capture those moments that make a place unforgettable. The quiet rituals, subtle gestures, and small acts of devotion that transform a property into a sanctuary. The comedy lives in the sincerity of their mission, while the emotion comes from recognizing a feeling we all know: discovering something so special that part of you wants to keep it for yourself.
